- 1996 to Present: Our Firm has worked on many large cases, too numerous to list, involving products liability, patent, medical malpractice, aircraft, and pharmaceutical litigation.
- 1992 to 1995: We worked on the largest contract dispute ($6.5 Billion) ever filed against the U.S. Government. Our clients were Boeing/McDonnell Douglas and General Dynamics and our team of reporters worked under Top Secret conditions throughout the discovery process. The U.S. Court of Federal Claims hired us to cover three separate trials in the matter because of our superior technology and the ability to deliver trial transcripts to the federal judge the next morning during the trial.
- 1989 to 1992: We worked on a major due diligence securities case wherein we traveled all over the United States taking depositions and traveled twice to Monte Carlo, Monaco, where we reported the deposition of one of Forbes’ Magazines Billionaires, Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisa, his son and several of his corporate officers.
- 1981 to 1984: We worked on the Hyatt Skywalk case being the lead reporting firm for plaintiffs' class counsel. This is a case where in the days following the collapse, the number of deaths rose to 114 with over 200 people injured.

Ellen Suddreth, Office Manager
Ellen Suddreth has been the General Manager at JESAI since its inception in September, 1981. She is responsible for helping to manage the day-to-day operations of the office staff. Ellen generally handles duties that others in the office would rather not take on.
As Ellen’s primary focus is collections, she is happy to make time to answer client’s questions concerning any billing or accounts receivable activity.
Ellen has two daughters and four grandchildren.
Dana Walker, Operations Coordinator
Dana has worked at JESAI since July, 1996. She is responsible for answering the phones, scheduling jobs, preparing notices and subpoenas and distributing the job assignments to reporters. She is a problem solver who looks forward to each new day’s challenges.
Dana loves to help clients with just about any concern they may have. Her wonderful, soothing telephone voice and positive attitude make her a favorite of clients and reporters alike.
Dana's many hobbies include reading, going to movies, and rearing two daughters with the help of her husband.
Polly Fletes, Operations Facilitator
Polly Fletes is a valued employee who is cross-trained to work in all positions for Jay E. Suddreth & Associates, Inc. (JESAI). She has worked at JESAI since May, 1999.
Polly is responsible for helping to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the business. She does everything from answering the phones to assisting in any department that needs her. Polly enjoys being trained in all aspects of the business; this enables to her to help our customers with just about any problem they may have.
She attended the University of Missouri and previously worked in the medical field. She and her husband have two children.
Rhonda Klein, Accounting/Billing Department
Rhonda Klein has worked at JESAI since August, 1998. She is responsible for preparing invoices for clients and for handling all aspects of the accounts receivables. Rhonda is cross trained to handle most other areas of the daily office routine as well. She especially enjoys answering client questions when they call.
Before coming to JESAI, Rhonda served as an Executive Administrative Assistant of a non-profit organization and had experience in payroll/human resources, insurance filing/collection at a health-care facility.
Rhonda graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Education. She is happily single with no children. Rhonda is a dog lover who cares for two yellow labs.
Elizabeth Stevens, Production Coordinator
Liz has worked at JESAI since October, 2001. She processes emailed transcripts from reporters for production and distribution to clients, helps answer the phones, and assists clients with their questions.
Liz graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a BA in Art in 1974. She and her husband have one son.
Sherri Dahlin, Production Coordinator
Sherri Dahlin has worked at JESAI since July of 2006. As Production Coordinator her responsibilities include printing and assembling all transcripts for delivery to clients. This would involve making sure all exhibits, disks and condensed transcripts are copied and packaged as each client has ordered.
Sherri loves to bake and is very much involved with her family and their activities
She previously worked at a large document reproduction facility before coming to JESAI bringing a great deal of experience with her. She and her husband have two daughters.
Jay E. Suddreth, President
Jay Suddreth has over 45 years experience in the court reporting industry. JESAI is the third firm Jay has built.
In 1986 Jay was elected President of the National Court Reporters Association having served on its Board and all Officer positions the previous ten years. In 1988 Jay was elected as a Fellow of the Academy of Professional Reporters, National Court Reporters Association (less than 2% of court reporters nationally qualify for this distinction.) In 1992, Jay became the first Certified Manager of Reporting Services in the metropolitan Kansas City area.
Jay loves working in the office with his "extremely dedicated" staff. His work there includes administrative details as well as the marketing, motivation, and hiring of reporters. Mr. Suddreth enjoys time spent in communication with "the best clients in the world". . . attorneys! He is constantly interacting with our existing clients and reaching out to new clients.
His experience serving our country as a U.S. Army Reserve military commander taught him to be a leader and he was honored with the Citizen Soldier of the Year award in 1964. His family includes his wife Ellen, three daughters and many grandchildren.
